This website provides information about a proposed settlement of a class action lawsuit that has been reached with Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Corporation (“Louisiana Citizens”) about whether homeowners were properly offered a settlement for claims filed after Hurricanes Katrina and/or Rita.

Under the terms of the Settlement, a fund worth $20 million has been created to pay eligible homeowners.  The lawsuit claims that Louisiana Citizens failed to provide claimants a written offer to settle claims within thirty (30) days after proof of a loss under homeowners’ insurance policies following Hurricanes Katrina and/or Rita.

Your legal rights are affected whether you act or don’t act, so please read the notice carefully.

These rights and options—and the deadlines to exercise them—are explained on this website.

The Court in charge of this case still has to decide whether to approve the Settlement.  Payments will be made if the Court approves the Settlement and after any appeals are resolved.

More information is available in the notice or you may contact the Settlement Administrator at 1-877-434-3066 or write with questions to:
